COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends,

Out of concern for the health of our wonderful writing community and due to uncertainties related to the coronavirus pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this June’s In Your Write Mind 2020. We know many of you have been wrestling with decisions related to travel and crowds for the weeks beyond our immediate social distancing restrictions, and we felt it in the best interests of our participants and the workshop itself to start looking forward to next year, when we can greet each other and hang out in groups without fear.

We are talking about the possibility of a virtual event in place of the gathering at SHU this June. We are not yet sure what this would look like or if it is even possible, but any updates will be relayed to you via this newsletter. You can also keep in touch via our social media platforms using the links provided below.

A portion of your workshop registration fee would have gone to the scholarship fund for SHU’s Writing Popular Fiction MFA students. Sadly, cancellation of the workshop means less money in the fund for this year. If you would still like to make a 2020 donation, please use THIS LINK, and in the comments box under “Additional Information” write “For WPF scholarship.”

We hope all of you stay well and are able to get in a little extra writing!

All the best,
IYWM Committee

Mission Statement

tumblerimgWe exist to provide support and help one another. Our purpose is to foster a writing community for both alumni and current or prospective students of the Seton Hill University Writing Popular Fiction program. We do this through our network of online sites and the annual In Your Write Mind Workshop. We are passionate about providing and maintaining a scholarship fund for students in the Writing Popular Fiction program.

While we encourage every aspiring writer to join the Writing Popular Fiction program, we welcome all writers (alumni or not) to attend the In Your Writing Mind Workshop held every June in Greensburg, PA.

The In Your Write Mind Workshop is an extension of the
Seton Hill University Writing Popular Fiction Alumni Association.
